Elena lives in North Seattle with her husband, dog, two cats, 500 house plants and one of her two nearly grown kids. She is a musician, a writer, a music teacher, a mom, a wife, a friend and an enthusiastic participator in life.
Elena DeLisle has been playing music professionally since 1999. She holds a BA in Jazz Guitar and is proficient in many different genres. She has played many styles extensively including Jugband, Bluegrass, Old Time, Cajun, Country Blues, Klezmer, Calentano, Swing, Jazz and more. She currently plays with the Western Swing band Airmail Special, and Bluegrass band The Weather Pennies.
Elena played for many years with the iconic Seattle Klezmer fusion band The Debaucherauntes; Touloulou, a traditional Cajun group, and Paul Anastasio and Fire of Tierra Caliente, which features traditional SW Mexican music. Elena is also a professional music educator, teaching grades K-8, as well as private and group lessons.
